Chapter 1

Sam and Dean allowed me to go on a hunt with them for the first time. They didn't really fancy me hunting and being female, but they knew I had a great head on my shoulders and would have taken the job on my own if they didn't let me tag along. Nothing really scared me in the hunting business. I knew what had to be done and did it.

My mother had been a hunter too, but when she was killed by demon trying to save my life, I decided to continue her work. She had taught me most everything I ever needed to know about hunting. I had always been on the road with her. I learned how to do things on my own to survive in hotels till she returned. Similar to what Sam and Dean had done as kids. I grew up without even knowing my father. He had left when my mom found out she was pregnant with me. After that, it was as if he had fallen of the face of the earth.

I met Sam and Dean on the road. We basically had known each other our whole lives and were around the same age. Sometimes our parents were working a case in the same town and we would all hang out as long as we were there. John Winchester was a friend of my mom's. I think she may of had a slight crush on the man because we ended up in the same places a lot.

The gig was in Hill City, South Dakota. It sounded like a case of Vampires and werewolves working together. At first we didn't believe it, but once we got there it was obvious. We weren't the only hunters working the job, in fact there was a team of hunters assembled already. On the scene of 3 dead teens we ran into Jody Mills. All of us were dressed as FBI agents except Jody.
"Hey Jody, long time no see. How ya been?" Dean asked as he offered his hand.
Jody grinned and shook his hand then Sam's.
"I've been fine boys, how about yourselves?"
"We've been just fine. Added a new hunter to the team." Sam said as he looked down at me.
I smiled and held out my hand.
"Jamie Dempsey" I said as he shook my hand.
"Pleasure to meet you Jamie," she said with a smile.
"So, what happened here?" Dean asked.
"Each of the teens have vamp bite marks and are missing their heart,"
"Any idea where the nest or pack is?" I asked.
"A few hunters believe they're a couple miles out. All the killings are local. Also with each killing another person or two goes missing. Like they're recruiting an army yet still feeding. There's at least 20 of them in total"
Dean shook his head and looked at Sam.
"We'll need all the help we can get. With so many of them and they're only increasing in number, this could go any way. Most of the hunters are stationed at the hotel in town. There's a bar across the street. You'll probably find them there," Jody said.
"Thanks Jody, we'll see you around," Sam said.
"Alright you guys stay safe," she said with a smile and waved.
"You too," Dean added as we turned and walked toward the Impala.

First we checked in at the hotel. I got my own room next to Sam and Dean's. Then we headed down to the bar that evening. Guys kept hitting on me and the boys would step in if they wouldn't leave me alone. Finally we did find a few hunters. They agreed for us to join in. Some of them they knew already. They said we would leave tomorrow afternoon. That the bar was the meet up spot.
We grabbed a bite to eat and a few bears then went up to the hotel. I decided to stay and talk to Sam and Dean till bedtime.  They asked me about my life after my mom was killed. I showed them my mother's journal. Sam sat beside me on his bed. He found a little note inside that I had never seen before and read it out loud, "I really like John Winchester and his boys. They're so very kind to Jamie and I. I feel for the boys and the loss of their mother. Maybe in the future I could become their new mother. Then Jamie would have a father. John is a very handsome man and a very great father."

We looked at each other in silence until Dean spoke.

"I think our father felt the same way about you and your mom. Sam and I would've been happy to call you guys family. You are like a little sister to us, I mean we practically grew up together,"
Sam nodded in agreement to Dean and he gently sat his hand on my knee.
"I would've been happy to call you and your father family also," I said as a tear fell from my cheek.
Sam pulled me close to him. I buried my face into his shoulder and fell asleep.
